Executive Board

Daniel Li

President

Daniel Li is a junior pursuing a B.S. in Business Administration. Initially joining as an analyst in the Spring 2022 cohort, he currently sits as the president of the Value Investing Group. Previously, Daniel interned at Nomura Greentech in New York covering industrials and renewable infrastructure. Next summer he will work at JP Morgan as an investment banking summer analyst in New York in their M&A group. His interests include reading, basketball, and powerlifting.

 

Matthew Day

Chief Investment Officer

Matthew Day is a junior pursuing a B.S. in Business Administration and a minor in International Relations. This summer he interned at Invesco Private Credit on their Bank Loans team in NYC. Next summer, he will return to NYC as a Fundamental Research Intern at D.E. Shaw & Co (Hedge Fund). Previously, Matthew interned at Almitas Capital (Hedge Fund) and was a research assistant at the USC Security and Political Economy Lab. Outside of VIG, he is also the Director of Engagements for 180 Degrees Consulting and is an Eagle Scout. Originally from the Bay Area, in his free time, Matthew enjoys reading, history, hiking, and traveling back to Taiwan.

 

Chisom Obioha

Chief Operating Officer

Chisom Obioha is a junior pursuing a B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance and a minor in Applied Analytics. She joined VIG spring of her freshman year. This past summer she interned at Morgan Stanley in New York as a sophomore summer investment banking analyst in their Global Industrials Group. At USC, she is currently the Director of Academic and Professional Funds for USG as well as a Marshall PAL Tutor for the Business Finance/Advanced Business Finance courses. In her free time, Chisom enjoys reading, staying active, traveling, and trying new restaurants with friends.

 

Martin Aguirre

Chief Communications Officer

Martin Aguirre is a Junior pursuing a B.S. in Business Administration and a B.A. in Theatre. Raised in Bogotá, Colombia, Martin moved to the U.S. to attend USC. He joined VIG in the fall of his sophomore year. In the summer of 2023 he worked as a Transactions Strategy & Execution Intern at EY-Parthenon’s New York City office. On campus, Martin works as a Student Ambassador and serves as the V.P. of Professional Development for AIM Consulting. Martin’s interests include musical theatre and Latin American literature.

 

Senior Advisors

Roei Zakut

Roei Zakut is a senior studying Neuroscience and Philosophy and was previously VIG President. Originally from Israel, he grew up in South Africa and the US. He has interned at hedge funds Old West Investment Management, Almitas Capital, and Point72, where he will return after graduating. Roei researched sensory perception in the Liman molecular neurobiology lab. His interests include neurosurgery, jazz, chess, and snowboarding.

 

Alfonso Aguilar Vazquez

Alfonso Aguilar Vazquez is a senior pursuing a B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance and a minor in Applied Analytics. Last year, he served as VIG's Co-President. Originally from Mexico City, he studied high school at a boarding school in Quebec, Canada. This past summer, he interned with Blackstone Liquid Credit Strategies in New York, where he will return after graduation. The previous summer he interned at Goldman Sachs New York as an Investment Banking analyst in their Financial Institutions Group. At USC, he recently served as the VP of Finance for the Marshall Business Student Government. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf and basketball, traveling, trying new restaurants, and attending sport events and concerts.

 

John Murnen

John Murnen is a senior pursuing a B.S. in Computer Science and Business Administration. He joined VIG in the spring of his freshman year and served as Co-President two years ago. This past summer, he was a product management intern at Atlassian in New York, where he will be returning full time after graduation. He has previously interned at a variety of technology and finance companies in product management, business development, venture capital, private equity, and investment banking. In his free time, he enjoys playing basketball, reading, watching standup comedy, and following Philadelphia sports. He specifically enjoys rereading Meditations whenever the Sixers choke in the playoffs.

 

Hannah Krugman

Hannah Krugman is a senior working towards a B.S. in Business Administration with a minor in Applied Analytics. She joined VIG in the fall of her freshman year. Hannah has interned at a residential development company in Mexico, at AG Artists, an artist management firm for musicians and NFT artists, and at Monroe Capital, a middle-market asset manager focused on private credit. This past summer, she worked at Goldman Sachs’ Financial Institutions Group in New York. In her free time, Hannah enjoys fitness, reading, attending concerts, and trying new restaurants. 

 

Mitchell Morrison

Mitchell Morrison is a senior pursuing a B.S. in Business Administration with a minor in Blockchain. Mitchell joined VIG the spring of his freshman year. He is also a director at LavaLab. Outside of school, he is working on Carbonlink, a platform for trading & managing on-chain carbon offsets. In his free time, Mitchell enjoys reading, hiking, and admiring yield curves.

 

Grant Pulley

Grant Pulley is a senior pursuing a B.S. in Business Administration. He joined VIG in the fall of his sophomore year. He has interned at Fortress Investment Group in credit real estate, at IEQ Capital in RIA alternative asset research, at Divcowest in real estate private equity, and at BentallGreenOak in real estate private equity in New York. This past summer, he interned in private equity at Ares Management. On campus, Grant serves as Director of the Trojan Investing Society’s Leaders Program and is an active member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. He is originally from Tokyo, Japan and enjoys surfing, skiing, and texas hold’em in his free time.

 

Jeffrey Deng

Jeffrey Deng is a senior studying Neuroscience and Philosophy. Currently, Jeffrey researches neurotransmitter release dynamics in the Hires lab, functional connectivity in the Bienkowski lab, and the neurovascular unit in the Zhao lab. This past summer, he worked on brain-machine interfaces at MIT. He will attend medical school after graduation. In his free time, Jeffrey enjoys looking at orangutans, trains, and reading Das Kapital.

 

Associates

Bright Lee

Bright Lee is a sophomore studying Computational Linguistics. He joined VIG in the fall of his freshman year. He spent two years in the Korean Air Force where he served as a staff sergeant and returned to campus this fall. As a polyglot who’s interested in learning European and East Asian languages, he loves to apply what he learns in an international setting and has previously interned at an urban research institute in South Korea. In his free time, he enjoys reading biographies and watching classical Hollywood cinema.

 

Alvin Guo

Alvin Guo is a junior majoring in Business Administration. Previously, Alvin researched monetary policy transmission at Brown University. This summer, he interned at Citi on their Global Transportation Finance desk in New York where he will return next Fall. Outside of VIG, Alvin serves as Vice President of Curriculum and Project Manager at Quant SC, where he focuses on implementing market makers. He is interested in boats.

 

Nikhil Deorkar

Nikhil Deorkar is a junior pursuing a B.S. in Computer Science. He joined VIG in the spring of his freshman year. Last summer, he worked as a Software Engineering Intern at Gemini on the Data Engineering team. Outside of VIG, he is an Undergraduate Researcher in the Computer Science Theory Lab and a member of QuantSC. In his free time, he enjoys weightlifting, bouldering, and watching Formula 1.

 

Sarah Li

Sarah Li is a sophomore pursuing a B.S. in Business Administration and a B.A. in Applied Math. She joined VIG during the first semester of her freshman year. Last summer, she interned at EmzingoU as a consulting intern. Outside of VIG, she works as a coach in high school debate. In her free time, Sarah enjoys traveling, hiking, and trying new recipes.

 

Harris Daud

Harris Daud is a junior pursuing a B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance. He joined VIG in the fall of his sophomore year. This summer, Harris worked in investment banking at American Discovery Capital. Next summer, Harris will be interning at Ares Management in their direct lending team. Previously, Harris founded and grew his e-commerce company CONCLUSIONS LLC to nearly seven figures in retail sales. In his free time, he enjoys working out, playing poker, and traveling with friends.

 

Emily Wu

Emily Wu is a sophomore pursuing a B.S. in Business Administration and minors in Computer Programming and AI Applications. She joined VIG in the fall of her freshman year. Last summer, Emily interned in the Strategy branch of MoneyHero Group. She is currently an intern for Kinesis Growth Partners, a search fund as well as an incoming Girls Who Invest Summer Intensive Scholar. Outside of VIG, Emily also serves as the Co-President of the Trojan Investing Society and is a member of the Los Angeles Community Impact consulting club. In her free time, Emily enjoys puzzle hunting, contemporary art, and table tennis.

 

Rodrigo Biolchini

Rodrigo Biolchini is a junior majoring in Industrial & Systems Engineering with a minor in Business Finance. He joined VIG in the spring of his sophomore year. Previously, Rodrigo has interned at Transfero (fintech). Next summer, he will intern at BTG Pactual (hedge fund) in the IT branch. During his free time, Rodrigo likes to read and play soccer.


 

Chloe Romano

Chloe Romano is a sophomore pursuing a Bachelor of Architecture with a minor in Business. She joined VIG in the spring of her freshman year. This past summer, Chloe interned at the Center For Architecture in New York City. She is also a member of Architecture + Advocacy and the Secretary of the French Club. During her free time, Chloe likes to learn new languages, try new recipes and listen to jazz music.


 

Min Seo Kim

Min Seo Kim is a sophomore pursuing a B.S. in Applied Mathematics with minors in Computer Science and Business Finance. He joined VIG in the spring of his freshman year. Beyond his involvement with VIG, he is a member of Quant SC and is also engaged in quant finance research with Professor Harris at USC. In his free time, he enjoys performing magic, playing table tennis, and watching K-dramas.

 

Shahzeb Lakhani

Shahzeb Lakhani is a sophomore pursuing a B.S. in Computer Science and Business Administration. He joined VIG in the spring of his freshman year. He is a Director at AI Safety USC and has worked at and founded tech startups. Outside of school, Shahzeb is working on a reinforcement learning AI for Mario Kart Wii. In his free time, he enjoys puzzles, poker, and tennis.

 

Analysts

Sarah Aliolli

Sarah Aliolli is a sophomore pursuing a B.S. in Math and Economics with a minor in Business Finance. She joined VIG in the Fall 2023 analyst class. This past summer, she interned at Horizon Partners on their M&A team and she is interning at Corbel Capital Partners in Los Angeles this fall. In her free time, Sarah enjoys reading, golfing, playing the piano, and trying new restaurants in LA with friends.

 

Jason Greenblatt

Jason Greenblatt is a freshman pursuing a B.S. in Accounting and Finance. He joined VIG in the fall of his freshman year. Jason is primarily interested in the intersection between derivatives and value investing. In his free time, Jason enjoys skiing, playing golf, reading, and watching the New York Knicks.
