VIG holds weekly meetings for members to discuss unique investment ideas, intriguing market trends, and contemporary business topics. Discussions operate in a socratic format, allowing the group to dig deeper into profound concepts with pushback from peers.

By fostering intellectually challenging discussions about financial markets, global politics, economics and more, VIG cultivates an environment of consistent learning. Members graduate with heightened critical thinking abilities applicable to all facets of industry.

Investment Curriculum

First and second semester members (analysts) undergo an intensive curriculum designed to impart a contrarian- and fundamentals-driven foundation in investing. Throughout the curriculum, VIG analysts present comprehensive stock pitches to put theory into practice and demonstrate proficiency in investment analysis.

Whether part of the analyst curriculum or members’ own volition, reading investing literature is a central tenet of the group. The following books comprise a portion of VIG’s reading list:

Professional Network

By competing in well-known university stock pitch conferences around the country (Harvard, Stanford, UT Austin, others) as well as hosting the largest competition on the West Coast, members of VIG build a vast network of driven individuals at top universities.

The analytical skill-set developed in stock pitch conferences and intensive discussions translates to professional careers and personal portfolios. The second level thinking emphasized by VIG propels our members into highly coveted positions. Sophomores and juniors in VIG land coveted internships in buy-side finance, investment banking, and tech.

Members access an unparalleled alumni network to gain insight on navigating the buy-side and investment banking recruiting processes. Hedge funds, private equity firms, venture capital funds, and investment banks recruit directly from the group.
